Agricultores Federados Argentinos S.C.L. has a Metallurgy plant at Las Rosas, which works since August, 2nd of 1976.

This facility’s purpose is to manufacture all the necessary components for the right functioning and maintenance of silo plants at AFA’s 26 Primary Cooperative Centers.

The elevators, tube transporters, chain transporters, air suppliers, platforms, pneumatic diggers and all the components required for ideal operability at plants are built in this plant.

Being the totality of the production just for internal use at AFA SCL, the metallurgy facility has played a very important role in the last decade, by duplicating Cooperative’s static stockpile capability.

New staff has been incorporated to Technical Department in order to create more complete facilities and manufacturing projects. Engineers have been incorporated to the following issues: Mechanics for dust extraction at plants; Civil for structure calculations and for a better work management; and Electric for the creation and management of electric projects and electric power contraction.

Currently, it counts with a 28 employees staff, made up by five technicians, one administrative, one factory boss, twenty operators and cleaning personnel.

The Metallurgy Technical Department from Las Rosas is assigned to the evaluation and management of all the AFA S.C.L. projects, such as new stockpiling facilities, enlargement of current plants or improvements in order to optimize them, development of contractual conditions, budget requests, technical and economical analysis of proposals, creation of contracts with AFA SCL legal department and work management. The Technical Department also advices the Administration Council, as well as the General Chief, about costs of facilities to be purchased by the cooperative.
