Cooperative Women Group

AFA’s Cooperative Women Groups are integrated by associated members, wives, daughters and women who are linked to the Cooperative. The first Cooperative Women’s Group was created in 1989 at Cañada de Gomez, Santa Fe. Due to its continuous evolution and its constant growth, there are now 29 groups formed by more than 300 members.

The general and unifying goal is to promote the participation of women in the cooperative, by working on 3 main axes:
  • Integral training of the Agrarian Family
  • Health issues discussion.
  • Community development collaboration.
These axes are taken through different methodologies: Workshops about Group Integration, cooperation, oratory, informatics, health and feeding, ecology and environment protection, Meetings and Seminars, training trips, courses, and many other activities.

Each group performs local meetings with a frequency that’s determined by its organization requirements. This way, meetings may be fortnightly, monthly, bimonthly, etc.

Currently, all the groups are improving the institutional consolidation process in the local level. In general, members of these groups are very satisfied with regards the personal relationships strength, the high level of training courses, and the achieved projection to community. There’s also a higher exchange among the groups, which is demonstrated by a strong participation of members at monthly meetings organized at Agricultores Federados Argentinos S.C.L. headquarters in Rosario; and also, by a stronger participation of associated member’s wives at Cooperative’s District Meetings. This higher interaction also happens with the AFA Young Men, youth group formed within the Cooperative.

After 20 years since the creation of the first group, Cooperative Women Groups are settled down in Ascensión, Arrecifes, Arteaga, Bigand, Cañada de Gómez, Cañada Rosquín, Casilda (2), Chovet, Ferré, Firmat, Humboldt, Inés Indart, J.B. Since the year 2.000 and with no pause, the Annual Meeting of Cooperative Women is performed, which has already transformed in a first line training event, having a strong participation of Cooperative Women members, others groups representatives, and entities that pursue similar goals.

The local training activities are structured according the demands of each Cooperative Women Group:
